Cataract Surgery

Cataract is a common eye condition. This is due to the internal lens of the eye getting cloudy with age. Eventually the cataract may progress to a stage where it causes blurred vision, and surgery may be required to restore sight.

Our doctors perform Phacoemulsification sutureless cataract surgery under a local anaesthetic. A pre-operative scan (IOL Master) is used to aid in the choice of the most appropriate intraocular lens implant in each patient. This is important in reducing the post-operative dependence on distance glasses.
